Start with Actual Loads

Sizing begins with an honest assessment: lighting, screens, coffee machines, refrigerators, ovens, service outlets, and charging stations. Each load must be declared with its power rating and estimated simultaneity factor, as contractual power for exhibitions must be requested in advance, and increasing it during construction is expensive, if not impossible.

Distribution Boards, Protection, and Continuity

A well-designed system includes an accessible distribution board, yet out of public view; selective residual current devices (RCDs) to prevent a single fault from tripping the entire space; and separate circuits for decorative lighting, service outlets, and critical equipment.

For retail spaces and booths with refrigerated equipment, we always recommend a dedicated line so that an intervention on another load does not compromise the merchandise.

Lighting: Rendition and Consumption

In retail, color rendering is as important as lux levels: light sources with a high CRI enhance materials and products, while flat lighting diminishes the entire fit-out investment. In exhibition settings, lighting is what makes the booth visible from the aisle: the lighting budget is not an area for compromise.

Safety and Documentation

Emergency lighting, exit signage, and a declaration of conformity are mandatory and subject to inspection. Delivery must include as-built drawings updated to reflect on-site modifications: a dossier that does not match the actual system is useless for the first maintenance intervention.
